Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba presents CUBA VIBRA!

A Port Theatre Spotlight Series presentation

Cuba, its music and dances from the ’50s to today. Where all the characters, women and men weave their life stories. Protagonists of precise movement and cadence incalculable: cha-cha-cha, mambo, rumba, conga, bolero, feeling, all the rhythms that vibrate the heart and fill the soul. The company Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba is back in Canada with this new show. Cuba sings, dances and lives!

Multi awarded for her choreographic creations and recognized for her artistic skills, tenacity, simplicity and professionalism, Lizt Alfonso trained at the Cuban National Ballet School and Spanish dance academies, schools of Dance Theater, folklore and others. Her vision and perseverance took LADC to be the first Cuban dance company to have seasons in New York City, at the New Victory Theater, since 2003. She was been specially invited to explain the creative process and mise-en-scéne of her work at the Work and Process series in New York’s Guggenheim Museum and made history as the first Cuban dance company at the Latin Grammy Awards in 2015.
